New Perspectives of Economic Depression

Global trade and tight competitions are two facts that can’t be avoided. There is a winner and the rest are dying. These dying nations (LDC & TWC) shall experience a serious recession for unknown duration. However, here are some various perspectives to deal with as cited from Rhenald Kasali's book titled "Marketing in Crisis".

Four primary aspects needed to be managed (McCann, 1991)
1.      Technology:  is a medium for transformation into advanced products
2.      Goods and Services: goods must be efficient effective while services are required to perform properly
3.      Structure: make use of Balance-Score Card  for continuous evaluation
4.      Labour: the change in “how to think

The essential solution to manage unpredictable condition in upcoming period is becoming a bent. That means:
1.      Give enough space for new perspectives and conscious because every person is required to prompt self-conscious instead of plainly execute commands
2.      Ability to present alternatives therefore all resources wouldn’t to be wasted
3.      Understand what are really happening in field because experiences aren’t solely measured by one way

Adopt “Hope Management”. It is:
1.      Focus on defined-goals which easily to be achieved and accomplished. Employ Pareto Principal (20/80) that is 20% of efforts resulted in 80% outcomes
2.      Once again, do not jump into other objectives meanwhile focus to not moving areas
3.      Human is acting because of hopes
4.      Accomplished hopes will stimulate occurrence of new hopes then preserve them
5.      Celebrate every progress and support the subordinates by giving courage, bonuses, and compliments. Nonetheless, beware to do not to be hurry to announce the winning or give an impression showed the goal has achieved.

Dr Jack J Llewellyn (2000) defines characters of a real winner, they are:
1.      Winner plays to win while survivors play not to lose
2.      Winning is not easy. Try hard against oneself fear, comfort zone, require bigger efforts than before, and bigger risk
3.      Winning is only one while survivors are millions and tiny fault made by winner will be considered as a big issue by survivors
4.      To be a winner, it must be executed by oneself and it can’t be delegated
5.      Winners tend to be happier people. Happy because they are respecting and being respected and always grateful for all
6.      Winner understands the meaning of balance
7.      Winning is a lifelong process. After gained, the winner must get back to defeat other new competitors
8.      Winning is about doing a right thing for a right reason. Hard working for winner is thinking smart to go for the best choice because the winner is the best chooser selector
9.      A winner is having a power to recover in spite of after great loosing
10.   Even as a beginner, sometimes we’re doing improper things but we learn from it
11.  Losers resistant to accept new inputs, reluctant to learn again and resist the reality to cover up their fool

Truly Hero vs. National Swindler
1.      Subordinates Therapy vs. Hurry Strategy
2.      Marketing in Crisis vs. Conventional Marketing
3.      Hope Management vs. Deny the reality
4.      Type of leadership: Focus, obvious, and calm vs. Jumping and Panic
5.      Step of actions: Relaxation constrain vs. leave as it is
6.      Type of Action: doing vs. waiting
